CCTV Systems

CCTV installation in Hertfordshire & Essex

We design, install and maintain CCTV systems for homes and businesses across Hertfordshire and Essex. Every system is specified around the property rather than sold from a box: the right cameras, in the right positions, cabled neatly and set up so you can use it.

What's included

  • 01HD, 4K & ColorVu CCTV
  • 02Domestic & commercial installs
  • 03Remote viewing via smartphone
  • 04Motion detection & alerts
  • 05DVR & NVR systems
  • 06Upgrades, maintenance & fault finding

Systems built around your property

A camera in the wrong place is worse than no camera at all. Before quoting we walk the property and work out where people approach from, where the light falls, and what you need to see: faces at the door, vehicles on the drive, or a wide view of a yard.

We then specify cameras to suit. Turret and dome cameras for discreet coverage on domestic frontages, bullet cameras where a visible deterrent helps, and ColorVu cameras where you need usable colour footage after dark rather than grainy black and white.

Resolution that is useful

We install HD and 4K systems. Higher resolution matters most when you need to zoom into recorded footage after the event: a 4K camera covering a driveway will give you a readable number plate where a lower-resolution one gives you a blur.

Recording is handled by a DVR or NVR sized for the number of cameras and how long you want to keep footage. We will talk through retention honestly: two weeks is plenty for most homes, while businesses often want a month or more.

Remote viewing and alerts

Every system we install can be viewed from a smartphone app, so you can check the property from anywhere. Motion detection can push alerts to your phone, and modern systems can distinguish between a person, a vehicle and a cat, which makes alerts something you keep switched on.

Neat workmanship

Most installations let themselves down on the cable, not the cameras. We run it through lofts, along mortar lines and behind downpipes so the finished job looks like it belongs on the building. On a rendered or period frontage that usually means a longer route through the roof space rather than the quick run down the outside wall.

What does it cost?

Most domestic CCTV installations fall somewhere between a straightforward two-camera system and a full eight-camera setup with 4K recording. Price depends on camera count, resolution, cable runs and whether scaffolding or access equipment is needed. We quote per property after a free site visit: no estimates over the phone that change on the day.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

How many cameras do I need?
Most homes are well covered by three to five cameras. Typically the front door, driveway, rear elevation and any side access. We will advise honestly rather than selling you cameras you do not need.
Can I view the cameras on my phone?
Yes. Every system we install includes smartphone viewing, and we set it up on your device and show you how to use it before we leave.
Will CCTV work at night?
Yes. Standard cameras use infrared for black and white night vision. ColorVu cameras use a low-light sensor and a warm spotlight to record in full colour after dark, which is far more useful for identifying clothing or vehicles.
Do I need to tell my neighbours?
If your cameras capture anything beyond your own boundary, domestic CCTV falls under data protection rules. We position cameras to minimise overlooking, and it is good practice to let neighbours know. For businesses, signage and ICO registration are required.
Can you upgrade my existing system?
Often yes. If the existing cabling is sound we can frequently reuse it and just replace cameras and the recorder, which keeps cost and disruption down.
How long does installation take?
A typical domestic install is a single day. Larger commercial systems or properties needing access equipment can take longer; we will tell you upfront.
