Intruder Alarms
Intruder alarm installation in Hertfordshire & Essex
We install wired and wireless intruder alarm systems for homes and businesses across Hertfordshire and Essex. Modern alarms are app-controlled, reliable, and far less prone to the false alarms that made older systems so irritating.

Wireless or wired?
Wireless systems have come a long way. Batteries last years rather than months, signalling is encrypted and monitored, and the panel tells you if a device stops responding. For an occupied property, especially an older one with solid walls, wireless avoids disruptive cable runs entirely and can usually be installed in a day.
Wired systems still make sense in new builds, extensions and commercial premises where cabling can be run during construction, and where you want zero reliance on batteries.
App control as standard
Every system we install can be armed, disarmed and checked from your phone. You get a notification the moment something triggers, you can see which zone it was, and you can let a family member in remotely rather than handing out codes.
Detection that suits the property
Pet-tolerant motion detectors, door and window contacts, glass-break detection and external sirens are all specified around how you live. A house with a dog needs a different sensor layout to one without, and an alarm that goes off every evening is one you stop setting.

What does it cost?
Cost depends on the number of detectors, whether you want wired or wireless, and which brand suits you. A typical three-bedroom house needs a panel, keypad, a handful of detectors and an external sounder. We quote after a free site visit so the price reflects your property rather than a generic package.
Questions
Frequently asked questions
- Will my pets set the alarm off?
- Not with the right detectors. Pet-tolerant sensors ignore animals below a certain size and weight. We position them carefully and set them up around your pets.
- What happens if the power or internet goes down?
- Systems have backup batteries and continue to protect the property. Many can also signal over mobile as a backup, so you still get alerts if broadband drops.
- Is a wireless alarm as secure as a wired one?
- Yes. Modern wireless systems use encrypted signalling and monitor every device, alerting you if one is tampered with or stops responding. For most homes wireless is now the better choice.
- Can you service an alarm someone else installed?
- Usually yes, depending on the panel. If parts are still available we can service and repair it. If it is obsolete we will tell you honestly whether replacing is better value.
- Will an alarm reduce my home insurance?
- Some insurers offer a discount, though many now require a specific grade or certification to qualify. Check your policy wording. We will tell you plainly what our installation does and does not include.
