Who we are

M&J Fire and Security (company number 17314826) installs fire, security and connectivity systems across Hertfordshire and Essex. For any privacy question, contact us at MJFireSecurity@gmail.com.

What we collect

When you submit an enquiry through this website we collect your name, phone number, email address, town or postcode, and whatever details you choose to include about the work you need.

If you contact us by phone, WhatsApp or email we hold the contact details you use and the content of that conversation.

Why we use it

Solely to respond to your enquiry, provide a quotation, and carry out and support any work you go on to instruct. We do not use your details for marketing and we do not sell or share them with third parties for their own purposes.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not lead to work are deleted once they are clearly no longer live. Where we have carried out work, we keep records for as long as needed to support the installation and to meet our legal and accounting obligations.

Who processes your data

This website is hosted by Netlify, and enquiry form submissions are processed by Netlify’s form handling before being emailed to us. Email is handled by our email provider. These providers process data on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.

Your rights

You have the right to ask what personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, and to object to how we use it. Email us and we will deal with it. If you are not satisfied you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.

Cookies and analytics

This site sets no advertising cookies and does not track you across other websites.

We use Google Analytics to understand which pages people find useful: how many visitors a page gets, roughly where in the country they are, and whether they went on to contact us. It sets cookies, so it is switched off until you choose to accept it. Decline and nothing is loaded and nothing is measured; the site works exactly the same either way.

Your choice is stored in your browser. To change it, clear this site's data in your browser settings and the prompt will appear again. IP addresses are anonymised, and we never see anything that identifies you personally.

CCTV systems we install

This policy covers our own use of your data. Footage recorded by a CCTV system we install for you is controlled entirely by you. We have no access to it. Our guide on home CCTV and the law explains your responsibilities as the person operating it.
